RTW Monson swimmers represent at Euro Meet
2nd March 2025

Last month, three RTW Monson swimmers travelled to Luxembourg to compete in the prestigious CCM Euro Meet. Club captain, Hayden Annan, 17 and Aran Bissett, 17, were selected to compete in the South East Region Team, whilst 15 year old Amalie Smith, who is on the Youth Performance Pathway, represented Team England, alongside RTW Monson head coach, Karen Bradbury, who joined the coaching squad.
All three swimmers performed well and made it through to finals, which was an impressive achievement given the calibre of the competition on this international stage.
Amalie was thrilled to have set a new British Record in the 400m Individual Medley event, and Aran, who was representing South East Region for the third year in a row, said, βI look forward to this meet every season. I swam the 200m Freestyle, 50m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly and 200m Individual Medley. I set a new personal best in both the 50m Butterfly and 50m Freestyle and made it to the B final in the 200m Individual Medley.β
For Hayden, this was his first international meet and first-time team selection for the South East Region. He said, βIt was a great opportunity to race against swimmers from other countries. The facilities were amazing, and the team managers and coaches made it a really enjoyable experience.β
Team England finished the event in first place, with Team Denmark coming in second and Swim Ontario third.
