RTW Monson finish third in National league

Earlier this month RTW Monson swimmers competed in the National Arena Swimming League B Final at Cardiff International Pool. Running since 1964, it is the largest team swimming competition in England, involving over 400 clubs. To compete in the final is a huge accomplishment as it is fought out between the top ten competing clubs within the ‘B’ category, with Monson the only club from Kent to do so.

The atmosphere at the final was electric, with supporters and swimmers travelling to Cardiff from Tunbridge Wells, decked out in fancy dress outfits to support the team. It was a thrilling, fast paced event which saw the lead club switch a number of times as the competition progressed across 50 events.

RTW Monson managed to secure a fantastic third place, with Camden Swiss retaining their first place title and Basildon and Phoenix coming in second. RTW Monson Head Coach, Karen Bradbury said, “This is an amazing achievement as we were competing against so many larger clubs from around the country. Well done to everyone involved.”

RTW Monson swimmers Amalie Smith, 15 and Hayden Annan, 18 were awarded additional honour of top female and male performers on the day.
